WOD:
“Swayze”
400m Carioca
25 Power clean and jerks
100m arabesque alternating legs ( jumping on one leg, you must demonstrate control and balance)
50 hurdle jumps
100 flutter kicks
100m plate/db walking lunges
400m Carioca
This WOD is a tribute to legendary actor, dancer, and People Magazine’s 1991 Sexiest Man Alive: Patrick Swayze. For those of us who came of age in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the man was nothing short of an icon. From his role as Jed Eckert in Red Dawn to the legendary Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing, Swayze was the man. His later roles and Dalton in Road House and Bhodi in Point Break pretty gave him enough dude points that we can overlook his role in whatever the hell Ghost was all about.
Swayze was a legend. R.I.P., Patrick. You will be missed.

“It’s amazing, Molly. The love inside, you take it with you.” (I thought you might like that one since you liked Ghost so much)
“No one leaves baby in the corner.”
Don’t forget the quote “Some men need to be hit back” where he lost a few more dude points in “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar” where Swayze plays one of three gay drag queens who are on their way to L.A. to compete for the national drag queen title.
Anyway, you guys are too funny. Our arabesques were terrible but we gave it a shot, all in the name of Swayze, does make you struggle with the balance. Let’s just hope this WOD is not part of the 2010 CrossFit games.

“Swayze” 32:22. This was a challenging & fun workout, especially with so many of the Playground crew around this a.m! It was worth it just to watch the two Wills do their dance moves up the driveway.
Cin, Tom & I will be there at 8 a.m. tomorrow, as we have an early start for Providence. Is that okay with you guys? Bailey and Chloe want to come at 9.

This was definetly a happy WOD for the guys. Gene says he would have had better form with his arabesque if he had worn his leotard. It was a fun workout. Time for Suzanne 20.14, time for gene 24.03.

Good job on the bike ride Laine.
My bike ride did not go as well. I think that the filthy fifty still hada hold on my legs. I did 75 miles the first day and only 25 miles the second day in the poring rain. I was able to keep up to 15.5 MPH dispite my legs…much slower than last year…oh well live and learn.
I saw my first wild Bear on the side of the road in the woods….way cool!!
