The picture of progress - February 14, 2009, Annie was doing jumping pullups. Nine and a half months later, she's all kipping pullups all the time. Great work, Annie!
WOD:
“Turkey Burn”
5 rounds for time:
400 m run
10 burpees
20 pullups
30 pushups
40 squats
Fantastic performance by The Playground Crew yesterday at The Manchester Road Race! The Playground was well represented, and we’re pretty sure that every athlete who competed PR’d the run. Being the geniuses that we are, we forgot our camera, but Bailey saved the day by remembering hers. Bailey – can you shoot us the group shots and any highlight photos when you have a chance?
Tom had the quote of the day saying:
It was a long way to run, but I wasn’t even gassed. I think it’s because we didn’t have to pick up a barbell or do burpees in the middle of it.”
Of course, that is a great idea for next year, Tom…

Tom, that is very funny and true! Barely got myself to come in today and was hoping for an easier workout … I should have known better! Turkey Burn in 50 minutes with black band and I threw in some sit ups because it was the only part of my body that wasn’t sore. Unfortunately won’t be at the playground as much until mid February as I’ll be working full time in NJ on “Mercy”. But I’ll be home on the weekends and will try to drag myself to the playground on Sundays. Really don’t want to lose the progress I’ve made via everyone’s help over the past 6 months!

Great efforts at the PG today – I expected a post T-giving burner, and, as usual, the PG didn’t dissapoint. 46:09, slow on the pull and push ups (challenging transtition). Great work Melissa, Pat, Chuck, Jodi, Annie, Mike, and WMalz! See you tomorrow.

Two more things: Annie, your progress is awesome and Jodi, be well!

survived the 100 pull-ups (or 5 rounds of 20, you choose) Progress still feels slow, I have to break up the pull-ups into 2 or 3 at a time by the end. Moorcroft and I need to push back on the bar more, we have both come a long way. Thanks for the encouragement everyone, I’m shooting for 10 in a row by the new year.
Don’t they have CrossFit in Jersey Jodi?
;o)

Cindy & Will, sent in some T-Trot photos. Whoever took many of them has a good eye, nice balance and composition. Love the one of Coach Will and the kids and Coach Cindy being “Cheeky” on the wall! Much fun at the Turkey Trot. Sorry we didn’t get these to you sooner but we lost our photo card reader and had to get one today (Black Friday). Can’t believe how fast this run went by. Wonder if the guy from Kenya felt the same way??!!
Jodi, we’ll miss you. What the heck is “Mercy” in NJ? See you guys tomorrow a.m. Bought a jump rope today on Black Friday. Whoo hooo!!!!
