Caleb flipping the big tire for time.

    WOD:

    “BEG FOR GRACE”

    1. Know your bodyweight

    2. Multiply it by 40

    3. Select a weight that you can handle for a very high rep count to go from the ground to overhead.

    4. Divide your bodyweight times 40 by the weight you have selected.  If there is a fraction, round up.

    5.  Select a movement you will use to take the weight from ground to overhead (most common is the Power Clean into the Push Press).  You must use the same movement for the entire workout (but you can change your load if necessary).

    Example: Will weighs 235.  235 x 40 = 9400 lbs.  Will selects 115 as his weight.  9400 / 115 = 81.74 reps, which we round up to 82 reps.

Don’t worry, we’ll explain it to you if you’re still confused.

    Challenges – it’s a rest day.

Mean Gene feeling the love in yesterday's team extravaganza. Great work, Gene!

A special treat for our friends at the Playground today:

    THE BEAR COMPLEX

Five Rounds – there is no time element in this WOD, and you may rest between rounds as necessary.

One Round consists of seven sets of the following:

    Clean

    Front Squat

    Push Press

    Back Squat

Push Press from the Back Rack Position

    There are several Rules:

    1.  No resting on the ground (even to re-grip) – Resting on the ground or dropping the bar constitutes failure of the round.

    2. You may break up or combine movements in any way so long as the following are met: a) The clean must start at the ground and end in the standing position with full hip extension; b) The squats must go below parallel; c) The presses must finished in the fully locked out overhead position.  Combining movements is acceptable – i.e. we will accept a squat clean (below parallel) into a thruster into a back squat into a thruster as a complete set.

We will run you through the movements before you go.

Challenges – Thank your lucky stars, it’s a rest day.

Brooke demonstrating how hardcore her bear crawl is

Brooke demonstrating how hardcore her bear crawl is

    WOD:

    2 People to a team

    5 stations:

    1. Run 400 m / Wall Ball

    2. Run 400 m / Push Press (65 / 45)

    3. Run 400 m  / Pullups

    4. Run 400 m / Back Extensions

    5. Run 400 m / Situps

The time spent at each station will be predicated based on the combined time it takes the team members to complete their runs.

For the sake of discussion, let’s assume Cindy and Will are a team.  The clock starts, and Cindy takes off on her 400 m run.  Simultaneously, Will starts Wall Balls.  Will continues Wall Balls until Cindy returns from her run, at which point, the team members switch – Will runs, Cindy is on Wall Ball until Will gets back.

Upon Will’s return, Cindy takes off on her 2nd 400 m run, and Will gets to enjoy himself with Push Press until Cindy returns.  Then Cindy gets to Push Press while Will takes on the 400.

This continues until both team members have completed each of the above stations.

We will be recording splits for each 400, and each team member’s performance at each station.  Scoring for each of the 10 movements performed by each team member will be ranked against the other performances from the day on a descending points basis, and the team with the high score will not only win the day, but will win everlasting glory, a lime, and an onion.

If you’re confused, we’ll sort it out for you before you start, don’t worry.

    Challenges:

Pullup: Max Pullups in 10 minutes

    Strength: 5 x 5 Deadlift

    Endurance: Run 5k for time
