Sue nearing the top of a deadlift in her CrossFit Total. Cindy cheering her on.

    WOD:

    Five rounds for time of:
    30 Glute-ham sit-ups
    25 Back extensions

    Post time to comments.

As Cindy and Jen and Joe were just discussing via Instant Messenger, it almost feels like there should be a run thrown into this one to make it complete.

    We’ve been through a tough

couple of cycles when it comes to abdominal programming. In particular, there’s been a lot of glute-ham situps of late. More in one spurt since I became a CrossFitter. So let’s keep it in perspective: even though your abs may not have fully recovered from Mr. Joshua and the last triplet, and even though knocking out 200 situps during the Barbara workout yesterday wasn’t easy, remember that grinding it out when you’re not at 100 percent is what’s going to make you better. This is where the gains come, whether you’re new or a CrossFit veteran, whether you’re young or old. Hitting it hard and being honest with yourself about if you’re giving it everything is the name of the game. Bring it hard tomorrow, and you’ll have earned the rest day.

In other news, Sue B finished her first CrossFit Total. She learned all three movements that day and was still able to rock them out with weight. You go girl!! Great job!

Oh yes, it’s cake time. It’s always cake time.

Just wait until Auntie Kimmie has a chance to join in on this set of comments…

OK, newbie here, so I will write my totals from Sunday in a lingo I trust you all will understand:

    SP = 55, BS = 25, DL = 100

Did rowing and squats as well … 2 minutes rowing, 20 squats. Feel it in the arse today. I’ll be happy about that come swimsuit season! Even after all of my running, never really felt the glutes like today.

I really enjoy the low-key garage workouts. Cindy and Will are so supportive. I’m nowhere near the level of everyone reading this, but you leave there with a real sense of accomplishment and that you’re doing something great for your body.

After battling a stomach bug all day and only managing to eat a single zone bar, I gave this one a whirl, but I just didn’t have the gas in the tank. Made it through the first round in 1:30, but then turned chalk white and the body just screamed stop.

Assuming I’m not dealing with the stomach bug tomorrow, I’ll make it up. If not, I’ll make it up next cycle.

IT WAS SO CAKE TIME LAST NIGHT FOR MEME’S BIRTHDAY…about 5 carbs out of the zone but it’s all good! Going to go and hit the WOD Auntie Cindy told me about except may do wall ball shots or box jumps instead of burps. The right shoulder is comin’ out of the woods and I don’t want to SCREW IT UP!

    Sue B~nice work!!

Alright, finally made this one up tonight.

    This one was a killer.

as rx’d: 10:27 Totally lost it in round five, was going as hard as I could manage, but it wasn’t hard enough to join Cindy and Joe in the sub-10 club.

Obviously GHDs need to become part of the daily warmup, so that banging out 150 of them is like nothing. And while I’m dreaming, I’d like a house on the water in Florida and a brand spankin’ new Mercedes SL55 AMG, too.

[...] may still be sore from the Barbara we did on January 25, your core may still be trashed from the January 26th GHD and back extension workout – that’s ok.  Start now, and envision the lifts.  Think about staying on your heels, chest [...]
